A most eloquent post, CV.
*** Another Crummy Limerick for Friend JohnG:
I confess I am feeling some doubt: Has your skirmish turned into a rout? Are you firmly on-track? Are you under attack? I don't know. Please give us a shout!

Still holding you in prayer. TEJ

This has turned into a rhyming board.

I have no limerick or haiku in me today.
John said on November 14, that he would be traveling stateside the next day. I take that to be the 15th of November. He's been gone long.
I have no idea what John does for a living, I think money is not a problem and that he does not work. Therefore it is possible for him to be stateside for a long time. Let's say he's spending the holidays. He would return to Spain after the New Year then.
However, even if John is actually still stateside and is not returning until after the New Year, I find it super unlikely that he has had no opportunity to use a computer in in private long enough to dash off the occasional quick post. Especially given his typical posting volume.
What I'm trying to say is that I've concluded that JohnG has relapsed and that he has no intent on returning to the board. I have plenty of poetry in me, but none that I wish to continue posting here.

Tim Tim Tim, that is cold dude and you are making a rational conclusion. That's not always a good idea. JohnG may very well be in pain and he may or may not be stateside.
He is a good man. Had he relapsed he would have come and told us. He may be out of touch, he may be hospitalized with a terminal disease, he may be in a Spanish prison--you see how unhelpful speculation can be? He might have been abducted by UFOs for all we know.
Never conclude that silence means a relapse or that silence means agreement either.
I am leaving a candle in the window for when JohnG wanders back home.
I just had this strange mental image of a small boy standing and shouting toward distant tall snow covered peaks. JohnG! JohnG! JohnG! JohnG!
JohnG!
We love you JohnG!
The key is under the mat, let yourself in and if it's late don't wake Mayberry up.

No pressure, though. Sure, Mayberry has been rushed to the emergency room for limerickitis, but she'll be fine. AND SO WILL YOU.
Let's just all recover.

My strange limericking here is, indeed, a candle in the window. There are other candles too, and let's hope the house is brightly lit. (I can see the little boy in JohnG glimpsing the glowing house through the snow-covered peaks and trudging toward it.) I'm sure that when JohnG does let himself back in to the board, someone will be awake to greet him. That's one lovely thing about this communal "house" we've got going here on the board, no? (Unfortunately (thanks a HEAP, CV), now I'm fretting about how we're going to raise bail for JohnG if he's in prison. EEEK! Even worse thoughts, about Spanish-house-construction mobsters (what's the word for Mafia in Spanish?) and the failed bank transfer come through--what if it's broken fingers? ? "You did not pay in a timely enough fashion. We do not believe your stories of failed bank transfers. We break just your fingers this time. Let it be a lesson to you." EEEEEK!!!!)

We don't need bail money, Mayberry!! We'll numb the prison guards with limerick spray, and then free John, innocently held a prisoner.
Let's all recover John!!

Whew. Thanks Johannes! I feel better. And we can make limerick splints too? If it's the whole broken-fingers thing??? Youbetcha!

Another Crummy Limerick for Friend JohnG:
A smoke signal or two would do to let us know that you're still you... That somewhere you're out there and you know that we still care and you've not been locked up in a zoo.
Scraping the bottom of the limerick barrel this morning (and isn't *that* saying something!), friend, but still holding you in prayer. TEJ

Of course I hope you're free, not in mire up to your knees. But days go by and so I sing-- as Parzival said to the king-- "Brother, what is it that ails thee?" www.cliftonunitarian.org/toddstalks/parzival.htmMissing you. Praying for you. Get your arse back here, please. J

dear Mayberry don't worry about bail money, enough people have contributed their 2 cents worth here we should be able to come up with enough for bail and to hire Alan Drekowiztz to represent him.
Today I am boycotting every thing Spanish until JohnG is a free man!
No more rain on the plain in Spain as long as JohnG remain gone
No ecarcerato es senor JohnG in escello jailus!

Wow, CV, that's a great insight. There's enough 2 centses to even pay off the Spanish mafia types from breaking any more fingers too, I suspect!
And, if my rotten limericks don't serve as sufficient enticement, how's 'bout this invitation to return and correct my Babel Fish Spanish?
Hermano Querido JohnG: Acarree por favor su asno de nuevo al tablero del mensaje. Gracias. Genios Tribales De la Anciano

How do you file a missing persons report on someone who no longer posts on a website they used to post daily on? How do you report them missing?

I've had moments of feeling blue 'cause my friend's not around (that's you). Today I am trusting that you're not off lusting and will return to hear my "ya-hooooooo"!
Just when I thought I'd reached the proverbial "bottom of the barrel"....
O, friend, come back 'round. TEJ
For your entertainment, here's my limerick in Babel Fish Spanish: He tenido momentos del azul de la sensación porque mi amigo no alrededor (que es usted). ¡Estoy confiando en que usted no está de lusting y volveré hoy para oír mi "ya-hooooooo"!
