Perhaps this prayer will help you as it has me:
"Lord, I have been struggling with my addiction. I cannot resist in my own power. No matter how I determine in advance, when the moment comes, I find myself wanting to do the forbidden thing. I cannot desire to do the right thing myself. Lord, I honestly do DESIRE to do the right thing. I am WILLING to desire to do the right thing. But you must empower me to have a godly desire when temptation comes. I yield my WILL to you. At this moment, please work in me to WILL your good pleasure."

Amen.
Holy God, like witness we may find difficulties and be submissive to the addiction especially when we are having urges. You invite us to live the Gospel message, not just hear and accept it.
It is not enough to say I believe. I need to live that belief. I need to seek knowledge of your word and follow it faithfully. I need to exercise self-control and avoid temptations. I need to build endurance to stand firm against life’s trials. I need to value truth and goodness.
Holy God, provide us with the fruits of your spirit to sustain us for our journey.
Fill us with love, ...so that we seek to understand and appreciate the rich variety and diversity of life that surrounds us. Fill us with joy, ...so that we celebrate your presence in each and every moment we are on this earth. Fill us with peace, ...so that we know how to ease those angry and sometimes violent urges that well up inside of us. Fill us with patience, ...so that we stop rushing long enough to witness your miraculous work taking place all around us (and within us!). Fill us with kindness, ...so that we take the extra time to help the one in need, even when it isn’t convenient for us. Fill us with faithfulness, ...so that we place our mind, heart, and all that we do in serving you. Fill us with gentleness, ...so that others know that we believe in a God who loves and cares for all people. Fill us with self-control, ...so that we act not on our impulses and urges, but rather on our beliefs and values, which are rooted in you.
I ask you dear God to fill us with these fruits of your spirit! For this I pray. Amen.
"By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things." -Galatians 5 : 22–23
"Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.” -Matthew 21 : 22
"Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name, you are mine. Should you pass through deep waters, I will be with you." -Isaiah 43 : 1-2
"I have blotted out your sins; I will not remember them." -Isaiah 43 : 25
"For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29 : 11
"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." -Hebrews 13 : 5

Amen from me, too. I just read about the idea of "being willing to be willing", then letting your H.P. take you to the next step. Sometimes that is where people have to start!

Father, we confess that we have sins in our life, some of which we just keep repeating. The cycle of fighting and falling and feeling remorse has kept us in the war, but our strength is fleeting. If we really don't recognize the things that keep us falling, please reveal them to us. But the reality is that most of them we know and we've refused to lose them. Forgive us, in Jesus' name, and lead us away from those temptations, for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Was just rereading my journal, and found this prayer from a few months ago. Thought I'd share it: Lord, please help me overcome this addiction and be made whole. Please give me strength when I am weak to resist temptation so that I do not fall into old ways. Help me never have to tell my wife again that I'm an "active addict" instead of a "recovering addict." Take the desire to do this sin out of my heart so that I never drive the most important woman in my life away from me. Help me always be worthy of her trust, and help me to no longer live a lie when I tell my children to keep the commandments. I thank thee for the strength and sweetness of the relationship with my wife, and for the love we feel for one another. I thank you for helping me see the danger I was in before I did anything worse. I thank you for giving me the blessings of love, family, and belonging. I thank you for helping me find the road to peace, and pray that you will help me follow it.

I like all the prayers. Here's mine. "Jesus I am powerless over my addiction to P/MB and I surrender it fully to you and lay it before you at the foot of the cross. Send your Holy Spirit to renew my mind and convict me of my sin and stop erroneus thinking. Please bless my wife and heal her pain which rsulted from my hurtful choices. I also ask that you make intervention with the Father for all the brave souls on this board who struggle like I do with this awful sin" Amen, and thank you all for such inspiring thoughts. RPL

“So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today."
I just found this scripture (Matt 6 : 34) which I find encouraging. Sometimes we tend to have everything planned. It's good, however, it could be discouraging. I ask myself "How will I ever make it!?" Well... day-by-day is the answer my friends.
God bless.

And Dear Lord, I know I cannot do this alone. I need your help today. I cannot make it without you. Please lead me, guide me, support me, strengthen me, lift me and empower me thereby granting me the victory that I so desperately seek.

This is a prayer I learned years ago:
Lord, this is the beginning of a new day. You have been given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it. . . or use it for good, but what I do today is important, because I am exchanging a whole day of my life for it! When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place whatever I have traded for it. I want it to be gain and not loss; good and not evil; success, and not failure; in order that I shall never regret the price that I have paid for it.
