I think I am finally learning how to say "no" and to understand that there are no "slips" only bad choices that I make of my own free will.

I think I am finally learning how to say "no" and to understand that there are no "slips" only bad choices that I make of my own free will. I agree with this completely, Witness. In the end, acting out is a failure of will. I heard someone say once that sin happens where temptation meets will. It's not a sin to be tempted, but what we willfully do after we are tempted reflects the strength of our character. Do we turn away from the temptation? Or do we wallow in it? (I'd add that willfully placing oneself in the way of temptation is also turning away from God.) Take good care! Paul

Yes, Paul, life is made up of choices. I hope to make good choices today!
Little things remind her of the past and make her think again about all the times I chose to betray her. But in general we are doing better. Although her physical pain is still almost always present.

I heard a sermon yesterday on mp3 by Dallas Willard. He said God put us in this world to train us to want what He wants. Hopefully I'm getting a little closer to that. I'm so thankful for His forgiveness and another chance to become the man I should have been all along.

I'm still focused on trying to live a healthy life, a life with no regrets.

I still see how I must stay focused on purity in the little things, momement by moment. I think that is the key to victory.

Blessings to all!

Larus, Thanks for the kind words.
InsearchOf, Where have you been? I just sent you a PM.
Things are not so easy here. But nobody said it would always be easy. I thank God that I am still focused on doing what is right. And it is never right to treat a human being as an object to be used. May I never forget that!

Witness, if I may ask, any news from the doctor about the pain your wife is suffering?

Larus, my wife is actually dealing with more than one thing. The most recent thing she discovered is an allergic reaction to a medication. So she has quit taking that medication and with time the symptoms should subside.
She is still able to carry on with normal activities. But this all wears on her. And it is a constant reminder to her of all my sins that provoked this when she got the news.
My prayer is that as she learns to cope with what I did then her other symptoms will disappear.
