Hi JohnG, It is a nice space and I like the boxes. They look nice and the glassware looks nice too. Your apartment looks like my sons room. Very neat and just right.
It is good to enjoy yourself because too much work is not good without a time to relax and reap the rewards of all you have been doing. When you get back to it it will feel fresh and much better as you start more projects.
I appreciate this thread so much! You and all who post here inspire me to want more of me and my life. Very uplifting and much needed on this forum as we deal with all the hardships we are enduring right now.
God bless you all, Rosie

Those posts about the goats cracked me up!!! You all are too funny. Goats really are kind of freaky. We have two baby goats at one of our properties and they jump out of the pen which has a very high fence...it is really totally freaky that they can jump that high and stand on the one inch fence post like it's a balance beam. They're like little wizards. In fact, now that it has been mentioned here, I think that goats are just so strange...especially the kind with the long long floppy ears. Can we please have an emoticon that says "Goats freak me out." But I do like sheep.
John, what is that ramp that goes up to the side of the house?

Thank you Rosie. I am glad the thread is appreciated. It is fun for me to be able to share what I am doing. I feel so good about my project and want everyone to see how it is going and what a neat place it is.
Tootrue,
The ramp up the side of the house is actually three things: There are two staircases that go up to two doors on the back of the house - there used to be four apartments in the house - two upstair and two downstairs - it was for the families of management at the local coal mine. Later, the last owner placed corrugated "uralita" (a fibrous roofing material whose chief ingredient used to be asbestos) over the space between those staircases to create a chicken coop. I have used that roof, which is quite solid, to dump the upstairs debris onto (broken brick/plaster/tiles/etc.) where it slid into a big pile below the roof. From there it will be loaded into a truck later. When all of the heavy work is done, the chicken coop and both staircases will be removed - and with earth-moving equipment I will excavate a decent size patio behind the house.
Here is a better pic of the stairs and chicken coop before they were buried under demolition debris:

Ursula,
As promised, photos of the sheep, with treats. I asked to pass out the bread today. They are quite aggressive once they lose their fear of the new guy. But they never once bit me - but I did get pushed around a lot by 18 or so sheep:

And here are a couple of shots of the newest addition to the flock - just three days old:

Hi JohnG, The photo of the house to show the stairs has curtains. It must have been of a time when others lived there. It is amazing how life comes and goes and those curtains shows how things change...... My Mom and her husband went to a funeral for a lady in Montreal, Canada who was 96 or so when she died and her family showed a movie that lasted 15 minutes of when she was younger and all.......my Mom said she was thinking that that is how fast life goes. She and her husband were married 60 yrs. He is still alive. Anyway I was thinking of that as I looked at the photo I love the lamb!! We also had lambs and goats when I grew up among cows, horses, pigs, chickens, cats, dogs etc. So it is nice to see the lamb. And all you show with the photos. Thank you again JohnG and I hope you enjoyed your day in the city. God bless you, Rosie

Oh my cuteness! That little lamb is the sweetest little thing. Thanks for giving them treats. It made me smile and that's always appreciated when coming here. I'm envious too! I'm a serious nutcase when it comes to animals. I would have been romping around the fields with them all like a lunatic. How fun!
I enjoy your posts and pictures. Keep up the good work and treat giving!

I have to say it's more "flower beds" than "garden." Considering it was mostly a little dirt patch when I moved in, and I'm not much of a gardener, this is a big difference for me.
Anyway, it's updated on my journal.
I hope you can meet your friend from here in real life. It's darned cool.

Shame his fate is sealed. Your friendly neighborhood vegetarian, Blueclouds Oh no....maybe we can start a collection or something to save that little guy. He could be the first of John's herd of sheep raised strictly for wool and we could name him Noporn. Or maybe that would be embarrassing when John is calling him in front of neighbors. Maybe we could just name him "Goat." Or maybe he's a girl lamb.

Maybe we could just name him "Goat." Or maybe he's a girl lamb. It wouldn't take much of a collection. He is probably worth less than 50 bucks. Once he is big (but still milking) he will reach peak value - maybe 80-90 dollars. I will ask the neighbor tomorrow how much he would take for the little one. I spent today removing debris from the ground floor. I found out another neighbor will be able to come over in a week or so to help remove the debris (from the property). I am getting it outside so that we can get it into a truck with the bucket loader. Since there are no new interesting pics today I will post a couple of pics of paintings. This is the reason that I chose this area - for the landscape. Once I start painting up here (later this summer - my stuff is still all down south), I will post pictures. Hi JohnG, Wow your paintings are real beautiful and you have a great skill. Thankyou for sharing those. I got the Rose picture as my desktop background and it is so pretty. I was thinking you could paint that. I can see why you live there and that it is a great place to paint.
God bless you and this thread is very uplifting. I appreciate this very much and enjoy it so. Rosie
