Lord, thank you for the hope you offer to those of us who are so unworthy. You are willing to forgive the sins of yesterday and offer hope for a new tomorrow.
For that I am eternally grateful!

Lord
I place myself in your loving hands and I ask you to help me give myself completely to you .
I want to want nothing for myself
Only in your will and your love can I be whole
Amen

The Original Prayer that started this thread reminds me of a prayer I have in my day planner since starting this walk through Purgatory. It's not necessarily an addicts prayer specifically, but reminds me of this walk in more than one way. # # # Prayer of Thomas MertonMy Lord God I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that my desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope that I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. - Thomas Merton (1915-1968)

Sawyer, thanks for sharing that!
Here is a prayer I ran across yesterday:

Lord today could not have been a more beautiful day... And I never thought about P or MB once... Help me recognize more and more all of the blessings you share with me. May the emptiness in my heart be filled more and more with you
I love you Lord my Strength.

The law of the Lord is perfect, and revives the soul. The testimony of the Lord is sure, and gives wisdom to the innocent. The statutes of the Lord are right, and rejoice the heart. The commandment of the Lord is radiant, and gives light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, and endures forever. The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
Good Lord, write it on our hearts. Be with us, who through addiction have lost our health and freedom. Help us in the work of our recovery, and protect us from the fear of staying this way.
In Jesus name we'll always pray, Amen.

Jer 1:4-10
In the days of King Josiah, the word of the LORD came to me, saying:
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you.
“Ah, Lord GOD!” I said, “I know not how to speak; I am too young.” But the LORD answered me, Say not, “I am too young.” To whomever I send you, you shall go; whatever I command you, you shall speak. Have no fear before them, because I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD.
Then the LORD extended his hand and touched my mouth, saying,
See, I place my words in your mouth! This day I set you over nations and over kingdoms, to root up and to tear down, to destroy and to demolish, to build and to plant.
Please God.... May I never be afraid to proclaim your word... to root up our addictions to tear down the walls which separate us to build up hope and the plant the seeds of new life
Peace and hope to all who struggle. ISO

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.
Mt 7:6, 12-14
