Checking in here again, today has gone well. Keep going through December everyone.
radical1, Welcome to the thread - this thread and the 100 days compliment each other nicely, although 100 days I find isn't about talk so much as this/the rest of the board.
Good luck - have you created a plan of what you're going to do in order to avoid P? I haven't created one before now and have failed in the past - I find it helps, even just small changes to your behaviours.

Alright, almost slipped today, but thanks to a lucky knock on the door from a suite-mate, I was saved. My fault completely for letting myself get so close. I pray that it won't happen again (you can pray for me too But we're almost 6 days into December. It's so hard, but will be so worth it! I just need to stop myself when I get that temptation. Stop myself when I use a justification. Stop myself before I lose all that I've worked for. Thanks for creating this thread!

googles, thanks for leading this thread.
BB, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about - have tried to explain my own thoughts on this in a thread titled 'I can resist everything except temptation'. December is starting to look like an awfully long month but I have made this commitment and am using that commitment to try and keep me going.
radical1, we will help you out. Stick with us! The joy at reaching a short-term milestone far outweighs the temporary high from p and mb. I know, because I have experienced both and I know which one I prefer. Again, it's all about commiting to these goals and recalling that commitment to spur us on to greater things.
Stay strong, Slam.

I'm still hanging on. This was day one of all day alone in the house. I decided to blow some money on gas and make the drive to go have lunch with my SO at her college, which took up a few hours. I actually was not even tempted until I was watching and interview with David Beckham and his wife (one of the spice girls) with my MOTHER of all people. They showed a few clips of the spice girls dressed in basically stripper attire. My mother then went to bed and left me as the last one awake in the same room as the computer. I decided to do some reading/posting here to put the images out of my mind.
It's interesting to me that even after only 11 days without porn I have begun to think differently, if only slightly, about the women I see. I saw a photo of three sisters that I knew and high school and who I have always though "those three are all soooo HOT!" Today, though, the word that came to mind was "beautiful." It came as a surprise to me. That's not to say that I wasn't slightly aroused by the photo, but the feeling passed and I actually found myself thinking about the personalities of the three women a little bit. I think that this is progress, and this kind of thing really motivates me to keep pushing forward in this. Now, I can't say that I thought much about the personalities of the spice girls, and I can't honestly say that I'm not tempted right now to open up Google Image Search, but after only 11 days I am much stronger to resist these things. I am also able to recognize triggers and to confront my temptation. December is going well for me thus far.
Sorry friends, this kind of thing probably belongs in my recovery journal more than here.

The December goal is good, also, because (for some of us at least) the season of Advent is the beginning of the church year. I suppose in way I think of it as a type of New Year's resolution.
Keep fighting, everybody.

Hey everyone. ESPECIALLY those of you who are struggling to make it through the month. Remember the goal is to make it through to December 31. 31 days of Sobriety. But if you slip, do NOT rip your own head off and try crapping down your neck! lol. This is not meant to make you feel like a failure if you do not succeed. While I have little patience for those who post daily that "oops I slipped again" those who slip while attempting serious recovery MUST be encouraged to keep coming back, posting, sharing and most importantly, healing! We can all do it. It may just take some of us longer than others. Onwards to December 31st! Just imaging new years day, NO PORN in our lives for 31 days, and an entire year of joyful sobriety to look forward to!!!!!

Hi all - 8th December and still going strong. The last few days have been easy, due to lots of family and work activities and no time to think about P. Keep your gaurd up everyone - the next week may be hard. I'm now 33 days clean, and the temptations for me are becoming less frequent.
No turning back...

As the day changes to December 9th I am still clean. (13 days) The weekends are usually pretty easy when I'm home on break, but on Monday I begin another week with siblings at high school, parents at work, and SO still at college. This coming week will likely be the toughest I face this December.
