I plan to open the new Support Board soon. While I am extremely grateful to Proboards for what they've allowed us to do here, this will allow us to be less dependent on Proboards for our discussion. We will keep this board open for a week during the transition, and then I will lock this board to all future posts while making it available as an archive. The new board will link here as there are hundreds of thousands of valuable posts. (Note: Proboards will run their ads on this board when it becomes our archive.)
When this board first started, I approached it with a certain casualness, but also with a certain faith, that I didn't need a ton of rules. I still don't want to operate under a ton of rules that no one will read. However, over the years, I have become convinced of five important standards that I will begin enforcing today, and in the future.
I may tweak these a bit. I wrote them up a few days ago and was going to wait to present them with the launch of the new board, but recent events have led me to launch them and to being enforcing them now. It cuts both ways so please be warned. As of today...

The No-Porn.com Support Board seeks to help heal those whose lives have been harmed by pornography. This includes addicts and other users, their family members and friends. It is assumed that most people posting here are experiencing, or learning to experience, pain. This does not justify inflicting pain on others. For that reason, the following rules will be adhered to by all board members.

TROLLING or taunting board members is not permitted. Posts that are deemed by Board moderators to deliberately incite anger or contention will not be permitted. Defending pornography is not permitted. Participation in this forum assumes you consider pornography to be problematic and harmful. While this board seeks to foster open communication on a subject that many have been unable to discuss, we place more value on civility, kindness and recovery than on so-called "free speech." Your participation here is welcomed and assumes you agree to these rules.
FLAMING is not permitted. Verbally abusive posts will be deleted and the authors may without warning be banned from this board. Using a separate venue to abuse members here is also not permitted. If you choose to verbally abuse members of this board who are sincerely working on recovery, you will be asked to cease and at the administrator's discretion, be suspended or banned from the board.
CHILD PORNOGRAPHY is the visual record of child sexual abuse. It is illegal worldwide. If you (or someone you know) is involved with child pornography, your needs exceed the scope of this board. Please seek professional help immediately. Any discussion of personal involvement with child sexual abuse, including child pornography, may be reported immediately to law enforcement at www.missingkids.com.
SEXUALLY EXPLICIT language or images are not permitted. While this site discusses pornography, including its impact on healthy sexuality, excessive detail or graphic content is not permitted and will be removed by board moderators. Sometimes what may seem excessive to one is not to another. If there is a question in the author's mind regarding the appropriateness of the post, the 'trigger' button should be used to mask the specific content and warn readers of potential 'triggering' material.
AGE: You must be at least 18 years old to post.
