Goal: to eliminate the use of pornographic media from my life.
Today I clocked up 100 days free from pornographic media. I never joined the 100 day thread as I thought why set myself a target that I could so easily fail. Instead I have concentrated on each day, knowing if I put in the work one day at a time I stood a better chance of getting to 100 days and beyond. I will continue to concentrate on the day for now, but my ultimate goal is to be able to say NEVER to porn. That's a tall order right now, but remember I thought 100 days was too difficult at the outset.
Things that have helped me along the way:-
- using the affirmation 'For today, I choose NOT to view porn'
- knowing that no matter how depressed I got (and I have been very depressed at times) my life was still better than if I was using porn.
- Choosing not to give up MB (personal choice). Since giving up porn my desire to MB has decreased significantly. I never felt I was addicted to MB, nor do I feel occasionally choosing to MB prevents my recovery from pornography addiction.
- Reminding myself in moments of weakness that i would be fcuking stupid if I were to use porn.
I wish you all well on your journey to recovery.
Unico
