Anybody see the movie Mr. Brooks? Sometimes I feel like Mr. Brooks....I'm a nice guy with a great life and a nice family who he loves very much....but I got this little devil on my shoulder that makes it very hard not to look at P. Now being a P addict is not as bad as being a serial killer (as Mr. Brooks was in the movie). But I couldn't help but draw many similarities between his life and addiction and mine. Just a thought. And a reason to come here. Which I desperately need lately.

I totally agree with you! With me it almost seems that i carry on conversations with that little devil too. I try so hard to avoid P., but then he pops up and says "you know you want to".

Arctic calls it living in parallel universes. Best be in one universe and stick with it.

I'm decided to drop the analogies or personalizing it for the time being. It felt too close to the "demon made me do it" excuse. I've been very erratic and wishy washy though. I may be calling it "the nine headed dragon of satan" tomorrow. Stay on one page brain!

H & I watched it in November. Here's what I said then:
"H & I watched a movie (Mr. Brooks)the other night about a man that considered himself an addict. His struggle & the way the addiction worked in him was disturbingly familiar. We're not murders like the movie character, but his struggles were just too familiar to ignore. We had to stop the movie half-way through to discuss it! It was actually helpful. Strange how that works, sometimes."
