WHOA!! I watched part of this show yesterday mate.. very dodgy. Not in the facts, they're fine, just the graphic nature of it. Ironically, porn addicts should NOT be watching this show, for fear of being triggered.

Does it have anything really useful, despite triggering material? If so, is it available on the network's website, or somewhere on bittorrent (unlikely, but thought I'd ask)? There's really been very little in-depth, serious media coverage of this issue and I'm always interested to see something on it that's well-done.

I've just finished watching the program. I was quite dissapointed in many ways. Although they touched on some intresting ideas e.g. the role brain physiology plays in addiction, it was extremely superficial in its treatment of the subject. It didn't spend very much time in looking at the various types of help which people can get for this sort of problem. Perhaps worst of all - although the program did carry a warning at the begining - there were quite a lot of sexual scenes and phrases which could act as a trigger.
The only good points really to come out of it was the mess which people can get themselves into, just how hard it can be to get out and the particular difficulties pornography addiction carries with it.

Thanks for the tip, unico, I have videoed the program, but am a bit worried to watch it given the above comments. It was actually my wife who suggested recording it (independent from your suggestion here), as she is supporting my recovery. If I do watch it, it will definately be with her by my side.
Do you think it is likely to be helpful to a SO of a PA, or is the graphic nature likely to disgust her?

on reflection, I cannot recommend this programme to either a PA or SO.

There was one half-interesting point made that I saw (missed the first 20 minutes) and that was that we have a very powerful memory funtion for remembering where we found pleasure. You can imagine how this would have helped our ancestors survive as it will have helped them rememberwhere to find food etc. How this function gets out of control and continues to lead us to where we've rationally decided we don't want to go when we realise the form of pleasure is actually self-defeating was not explained.
The rest of the programme seemed to be video-diary type stuff. Possibly slightly interesting for people who have never heard of porn addiction, but overall, not very enlightening.
