I've decided to begin writing in a journal about my recovery. I really don't mind if others respond to this thread if you want to, but I won't expect it.
My recovery plan is as follows:
1) Pray with more sincerity 2) Start a regular exercise routine 3) Ignore my "inner voice." 4) Follow the phrase, "slow is fast, and fast is slow." 5) "See" the world again. 6) Focus on what I'm doing, when I'm doing it. 7) Limit noncritical internet use as much as possible. 8) Be more productive at work.
I started my exercise routine yesterday, we'll see if it helps.

OK,
It's been a couple of weeks since I wrote in this journal, and it's been about three weeks since I have been clean.
I broke one of my rules this morning: "limit noncritical internet use as much as possible" I have needed to buy a commuter car for work for the past several months. I don't really have the money right now to buy one, I've been waiting until my tax returns come in to get one. Well, I decided to do some investigations of the market around here on a popular classifieds site. After looking for a little while at the cars, and getting more discouraged at how much they cost these days, I found that the classifieds include personals. I read a few (for fun....) and am shocked at how explicit they are. Some even had pictures. Now, I wasn't consciously looking for pictures, but I placed myself in a dangerous situation and the pictures found me. I only saw a couple pictures, but they were enough. I guess that puts me back on day 1.
So, from now on I will:
1) Write my recovery plan on a piece of paper and keep it with me always. 2) When I am tempted to do anything that is against my recovery plan, I will take a deep breath and ignore the VOICE.
For now, I'm going to the gym.
