A couple of months ago I posted about my pa's collection of perverse action figures and how creeped out I was by seeing them. I finally got around to listing a couple of them on ebay.
I made 240 bucks tonight.
I find it also creepy that there is a subculture of people that buy toys to keep perfectly in boxes so that they can sell them to other people who will keep them perfectly in the boxes. Apparently this is quite a thing. I got messages from people in Malaysia and Australia looking to bid. Two dolls selling for darned near 300 bucks. Amazing.
I'm in my office now surrounded by these things, scantily-clad dolls with dead eyes staring at me from their boxes. Well, the two that sold basically have paid for my Christmas shopping. I listed three more of the icky things tonight. It almost makes up for the fact that dh has a nasty cold and has called in sick for the morning, so you know what he'll be doing to make himself feel better...

Wow. So grody. It's double-creepy to know that they are so sought after.
But so totally cool that you're reaping the profit (just gotta hope that the gawdawful things don't go causing some other poor woman heartache)
Anyway, my hubby is a collector, too. Not of ick like those (well at least as far as I know), but we have tons of Simpsons action figures in packages... sports memoribilia in packages... toys in packages. I don't get it. Where's the fun in that?
He must really love me, tho, because he broke up one of the Simpsons collections to unwrap (egad!) one of them to give to me for my desk.
