I am looking for just one.
Just one good reason why I should give this world, and, everyone in it a second chance?
If anyone has seen the movie.. The Fith Element... think back to the part where the woman was crying from seeing all the hate, the violence, the anger in the world... and didnt want to save the world, because, there was nothing there to save.
I am feeling like her. I see nothing but lies....pain....distrust....betrayal....selfishness....lust.....violence....
What is there?
His answer was love.... but there is none.
No one on this board can tell me it exists... there is NONE!
Give me one good reason other then love.... just one.
Can you? Can anyone?

Sillyrabbit, I haven't seen that movie but I think there is a lot more in the world besides hatred and violence and lust. Yes, those things exist and they are awful but that is definitely not all the world has to offer.
There is beauty, kindness, joy and love and many, many good and wonderful things.
I'm not sure what precipitated your post. I'm not sure what you mean about giving the world a second chance.
If you feel comfortable sharing, I'll do my best to listen.

Sillyrabbit, you sound like you're really hurting right now. I'm sorry you're in pain. What's happened that you feel your whole world is going to the dogs?
All I can say for second chances - I'm glad I've received more then my share. I have gratitude for each time somebody extends me a second, third, fourth.... forty-fourth chance. I realize I don't deserve them - so that's why I am so thankful for them.

SillyRabbit - You sound like you're in a difficult place right now and are pouring forth your pain. I apologize for any part in your pain that addiction may have caused because I believe all addicts and all addictions have helped contribute to the state the world is in today. However, I can assure you that there is plenty to live for.
"Love does not brood over injury," says Saint Paul. If you think it does, you will be disappointed when you get to heaven and find that there is no sin that can't be forgiven by God, according to Fr. Anthony DeMello. I don't mean to hijack this thread, but you present a question that I can only see one answer to. St. Augustine says, "Our hearts were created for you, Lord, and they will be restless until they rest in you," while the Indian mystical poet Kabir wrote, "I laughed when they told me a fish in the water is thirsty."
Can I think of one good reason why you should give anyone a second chance? Yes, so you will cease being so unhappy.

Where there is life, there is hope.
On more than one occassion, some very dire, hope was reason sufficient for me.

Because, to live as a human being, you have no other choice.
Your question assumes that the world and everyone in it owes you something and has something to prove to you. That is, it assumes everyone else must show you why your life has meaning, why you should stick it out and try to make the most of it.
But no one else can do that for you. The energy, the drive, and the will to find happiness and a sense of well being in life lies only within you. It is a simple truth, but a difficult one to accept; for it places a tremendous responsibility on you. But it is better than the alternative, because looking to the outside world to define yourself, or to relieve yourself of your pain, is a futile effort that inevitably drives one into despair.
I do not mean to preach; nor do I mean to imply that I always live by this wisdom. Indeed, I struggle every single day with this reality, because it is cold and hard. For many, many years I have looked for someone or something else (e.g., P/MB) to fill that vast void within me, and I still often slip back into the mode. As a result, I have time and again reached the same place where you are right now: the feeling that life is just not worth continuing.
I have simply pledged to accept that somewhere within me -- no matter how deep I have to dig -- happiness and contentedness exists and can be found. This is a pledge I must renew every day; otherwise, I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders, just like the way you appear to feel right now.
I hope you are able to find that place within yourself, that place where you can stand firmly on your own ground and realize your own potential, regardless of everything and everyone around you. Just as the world and everyone don't owe you anything, you owe nothing to them -- other than to find and be you.
Good luck.

Silly Rabbit...dicks are for chicks. Hopefully that brought at least a millisecond of a smile to your face? I am sorry you are where you are because there is a lot of love in you. Love yourself first and you will receive all the love you need..don't love someone else so much that they take your love and leave you empty.
Yes sillyrabbit, there is a lot of bad and evil things in this world at this time, it is a hard place to live in. The thing I found helps the most is to look for love from people and you will find it. I don't mean from your s/o, that may leave you unfullfilled, look for love in other people, it is there and don't be afraid to receive. When you give too much of yourself you don't allow others the chance to give to you and trust me (I am complete stranger here reaching out to you) there are plenty of people that are good in this world..please post more so we can help you.

Don't worry about the world. It will either become a paradise via technology or the second coming or whatever, or it will just rot, kill itself, get struck by a giant meteor or some other terrible stuff. For better or for worse, you'll probably be dead before it reaches the denouement.
Just stick your head in the sand and enjoy your little bubble.
I don't watch or read the news anymore. I once cared about the world, being informed, a good citizen, and yada yada. Well screw it. Life is too short to spend it worrying about everyone else's messes, especially when I have no power to fix them. I'm sure that some people would castigate me as "part of the problem," but I didn't ask to be born. As Eric Cartman says, "Screw you guys, I'm going home!"
