A new recovery resource asked if I'd be willing to post this to the board. I really appreciated their desire not to SPAM the board, and so I share this with you FYI. It should not be considered an endorsement by No-porn.com, but it does sound like some will certainly find it helpful. Here is their info:
Freedom Begins Here
For the past four years, our team of media experts has been hard at work creating exciting new resources on pornography and sexual addiction. We call it Freedom Begins Here. The purpose of Freedom Begins Here is to eliminate the epidemic of pornography addiction by creating awareness of the problem and equipping an army of people with the best resources available.
We are challenging every person to join with us as part of a bold movement to break the epidemic of pornography addiction. You may not be the one struggling, but you know someone who is.
How can you get involved? The first step is to check out the groundbreaking series of Freedom Begins Here DVD ToolKits designed to equip individuals and churches to face the problem head on. The ToolKits offer a fresh approach filled with hope and encouragement. Together we can end the silence. Join the movement! freedombeginshere.org
*Freedom Begins Here is set to launch in January 2008.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to keep anyone that might care in the "know". Here are some updates, and some things to be looking for in the very near future. We're down to the wire in production, but we're still aiming to meet our deadline! We have formed a ministry partnership with Rush of Fools! A small bit of info can be read in a December press release which can be viewed at: www.christianmusicplanet.com/search/11561208/Also, make sure and check out our current info page (but be aware that at any given moment the new site may launch! So check back often for news and updates!) www.freedombeginshere.orgWe're excited about everything on the horizon! We really cannot wait to get this thing started!

FBH, On your website you cite a survey according to which 50% of Christian men are addicted to P. Could you give us details of how that survey was carried out? I know P addiction is a serious problem, that's why we're here, but I don't think we gain anything by exaggerating. Orroz, the psychotherapist I am currently reading ( see Orroz.net ), puts the figure (for all men, not just Christians) at around 10% and rising, but he doesn't cite his sources either.
BTW, I'm an atheist and dogmatic sceptic. :-)

petitjean, According to the information provided to us, the percentage comes from a small sample of Christians who voluntarily participated in a poll. The result was that 50% of the people polled (it may have been 49% or 51% for all we know) struggle with or are addicted to pornography.
Now, I'll be the first to say that I believe most of the time these polls and surveys are flawed, but nonetheless I would have expected a much lower percentage! The numbers may have been fudged somewhere along the lines, but I can assure you it wasn't us beefing up the stats!
ChristiaNet.com has many different surveys they have "conducted" with the results available to the public. They may have their own agenda, but ours is just a ripple effect and response to alarming numbers such as these! Thanks for the inquiry petijean!

Greetings again! I just wanted to make everyone aware that the new look and feel for FreedomBeginsHere.org has been launched! In addition, we have added the introduction for the Personal Toolkit to the site for your viewing! It's quite powerful if I do say so myself. We have also included a news area so we will be able to keep you all up to date as we finish up production and get ready to launch this monster. I would like to encourage you all to pay a visit and see what you think. Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone!
